Tropic magazine is a bi-monthly print publication covering art, culture, industry and innovation across Cairns.

Working closely with the editorial and studio team I provide creative direction, design multi-page editorial layouts and advertisements, organise and meet deadlines, and coordinate the print process.

As a part of the cover design process I regularly work with external photographers to direct cover shoots on-site or in studio.

With 9000 copies of each issue distributed across Far North Queensland, the publication’s design and content alike appeal to a wide local readership.

Tropic Now is a free and independent news source delivering online news, locals’ guides and community information to Cairns and Far North Queensland.

The Tropic Now website and socials covers topics such as breaking news, business, lifestyle, food, arts, and culture.

I work seamlessly with the editorial team to design social news tiles, newsletters, print and digital advertisements, and brand collateral.
